We’ve already got a fourth film that’s being written right now. How many more can we expect? And, how will those compare to the first three that took the world by storm? Oldboy at screamindemon.com

One of my favorite films ever is Chan-Wook Park’s Oldboy. It had an excellent premise, great acting, a strong story, nearly perfect cinematography and overall, just one of the best films I’ve ever seen. Now, America, as it seems to do with ANY film that has ANY success anywhere, has considered remaking Oldboy for several years, but certain events have kept the film from moving forward, much to my happiness. Oh glorious news! It seems like director Juan Antonio Bayonna (The Orphanage) has been tapped to direct ‘Hater’ for Universal. Why am I so excited? Because, after Guillermo del Toro, Bayonna is one of the up-and-coming directors to watch. The Orphanage was a masterpiece, and almost as powerful as Pan’s Labyrinth on a much smaller scale. And, the good news doesn’t stop there. Read on for more.

So, the news to day was…interesting.  I say that because every time I think of re-imagining I think of that steaming pile of sh*t, Rob Zombie’s Halloween.  Michael Myers is not a red-neck hick you hack.  Leave the industry immediately.  A turd nyway, but news on the remake front.  Wait, or is it re-imagining?  This one sounds more like that to me. For now, let’s just say it’s Universal at the forefront of this one, and it sounds like it’ll either be beyond fun, or it will be a horrendous.  Read on for what’s coming up.
