Take this with a grain of salt as it comes from a tabloid but the UK’s The Daily Express is reporting that Tom Cruise is trying to get started on a remake of the 1969 classic Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid. Cruise wants to play Redfords role of Sundance with  Travolta playing Paul Newmans role of Butch Cassidy. Read more

‘Valkyrie’ 2008 trailer

‘Valkyrie’ is based on true events.  During the height of WWII and Hilter’s reign in Germany, a group of high ranking German officials plot to assassinate Hitler so they can gain power of the German Army, thus stopping the war.  The film is directed by Bryan Singer (The Usual Suspects, X Men, X2, and Superman Returns) and stars Tom Cruise(Top Gun, Days of Thunder).  This hits theaters on Christmas Day.

Valkyrie Moves Back Onto The 2008 Slate

After being moved from this August to next February, Valkyrie is again being moved, though this time in our fuhrer… I mean favor. After a recent test screening that “went well”, MGM has opted to move the film back into the late year timeslot, which is normally used for family and Oscar films. Considering MGM is a shell of the former studio they used to be (what do they have now? Rocky, Bond and this?), expect them to campaign this film rigorously to the Academy.

Spy Sex Change For Jolie

In an interesting, but not wholly uncommon turn of events in the film world, an entire script is being rewritten to allow Angelina Jolie to replace another A-list actor in “Edwin A. Salt” the new spy thriller. I’m totally down with doing whatever it takes to get the film made, and Jolie is not the worst actress they could have picked, but besides box-office cash, what other reason could there be for bringing her in and completely rewriting the script? Oh, and that A-list actor she is replacing is Tom Cruise. So, I can’t say I’m exactly upset with the choice, but there’s a ton of other choices the studio could have gone with for this little switch-r-roo. Read on for some more.
