Screen Gems, Austin Chick Thrill it up

Screen Gems and the indie writer/director/producer Austin Chick(XX/XY, August) are teaming up for an upcoming untitled thriller. Gems has signed up to be the label attached to the film. Screen Gems released the ‘Prom-Night’ remake earlier this year, experienced some success with the film (trash if you ask me) and has decided to open up to other kinds of films in leu of their hit. Read on for more info on the upcoming thriller.
‘Maneater’ Consumes Cast

Some news broke earlier today about an upcoming horror-thriller entitled ‘Maneater’. With a cast like Dean Cain, Conrad Janis, Stephen Lunsford and Walter Phelan I see this film, either rounding out the Sunday night SciFi channel circuit or maybe, if its lucky, filling up space on the shelves of Blockbuster, surrounded by Dr. Giggles and Man-Thing. Let’s see if this sounds any better…
Bay of Blood (1971)

What if I told you that once upon a time slasher films weren’t generic and some even had a point to their story? You’d probably call me a liar and smack me upside the head with a brick. But, I swear it was true. Some might say these early slasher films are giallos, but at their heart the still have that body-count that we all know and love. Bay of Blood is considered the Godfather of slasher films, and I would partially agree with that, as it was one of the first modern slasher flicks, but it also has a solid story running beneath the surface of greed and double-crossing.

Sandler To Intentionally Horrify Us With New Film

Yes, you read that headline right. Not satisfied with producing wildly unfunny movies that make almost no money, Sandler’s Happy Madison production line has decided to produce genre pictures with its new branch, Scary Madison.
