“ANGUISH” Remake

February 11, 2009 by ShempyCat

The 1987 horror film “Anguish” from director Bigas Luna is going to be remade by Sam Raimi’s Ghost House Pictures. Screenwriter Jake Wade Wall is set to write the script. According to Variety this is the plot for the film:

“Anguish” follows two girls who, while watching a scary movie, find themselves in a horror film of their own when their life starts to mirror the pic’s plot.

The original “Anguish” starred Zelda Rubinstein and Michael Lerner and it’s movie within a movie plot was quite sureal and experimental. It’s a bit of the “WTF” realm. I actually saw this film at the New Beverly on one of their Grindhouse nights and liked it, as weird as it was.

Will the writer and Ghosthouse try and update it with good looking teens in a modern cineplex? Will they try and keep the exprimental edge? Only time will tell.

Will the Lizard appear in ‘Spiderman 4′?

With McGuire and Raimi sighned on for ‘Spiderman 4′(and five for that matter), the next step is knowing who the Villian will be. They have already used The Green Goblin, Dr. Octopus, Sandman, and Venom. I am sure the rumors will fly, as with this Lizard rumor. Dylan Baker plays Dr. Curt Conners, who ultimately becomes the Lizard. So, they have the actor in place, Dr. Conners already has screen time, seems like a no brainer right?

Sony Marvels At Spider-Man 4 Possibilities

September 6, 2008 by admin

Back in May, Cinematical ran a scoop on the Spider-Man 4 script, reporting that James Vanderbuilt (Zodiac) had recently turned a draft into the studio and that the story-arc was so big, it could easily be realized across two films. Sony, still trying to wash away the bad buzz from Spider-Man 3, saw this as a way to save money and possibly get the franchise back on track, as it wasn’t a Raimi/Raimi collaboration (but really, S3 was all Avi Arad’s fault), so they started negotiations almost immediately.

Franco And Raimi Don’t Know Jack

James Franco on screamindemon.com

Sam Raimi, why can’t you just pick a damn movie to make already? You have five movies that are suppose to be your next project (or at the least, the one after that) and yet, you know what fans really want out of you. We’ve been waiting for it for years and you keep promising to go back and make it. And remake it (even though you technically already have when you made the sequel). Hell, you even told us your brother was coming up to write the script with you the weekend after Comic-Con. So, why can’t I just get some solid Evil Dead IV news? Would it kill you to quite screwing around with other people’s franchise and just screw around with your own?
