del Toro’s “Don’t be Afraid of the Dark” Info
It seems that Guillermo is at it again (I mean, it’s not like he’s not booked ’til 2017 anyway) with a remake, but he will not be directing. Read on for the info.
Hellboy 3 Update

Recently Guillermo Del Toro admited that “Hellboy 3″ is likley a few years off as he’s deeply immersted in the Hobbit world, but the good news is he will be coming back to it. While he’s away he has offered up some encouragment for a spin off with the B.P.R.D. where someone else could take the helm.
Talking wtih MTV News Del Toro revealed:
“We’re three, four years away from anything happening—so I don’t think anyone is, you know, in a big hurry.”
The Hobbit films are underway and getting all of Del Toro’s attention right now.
Derrickson to direct ‘Paradise Lost’

Scott Derrickson(The Exorcism of Emily Rose, The Day the Earth Stood Still – 2008) will direct John Milton’s classic poem ‘Paradise Lost’. The Poem is about Lucifer and his attempt to overthrow god, amongst other things. Please read on for more info…
Del Toro Continues Reign on Fairy Tales

Guillermo del Toro has created some of my favorite tales on celluloid to date, and he’s continuing his reign with a current development of, probably my favorite childhood tale, ‘Pinocchio’. Yes, two of my favorite things, coming together. The awesomeness may just give me a heart attack. Read on for the details while I try to calm down a bit.
Anchor Bay is ‘Out’

Anchor Bay has just snagged the rights for a Kim Basinger lead thriller entitled ’While She was Out’. Anchor Bay, as any horror fan, isn’t exactly known for it’s theatrical releases. Almost every title they’ve put out in the genre has gone DTV. But, the Bay has distributed three films already in theaters this year. Could this be the turn around to seeing more horror films in theaters? Here’s hoping. Oh, yeah, for more info on the story, read on.
Bayonna to Helm ‘Hater’

Oh glorious news! It seems like director Juan Antonio Bayonna (The Orphanage) has been tapped to direct ‘Hater’ for Universal. Why am I so excited? Because, after Guillermo del Toro, Bayonna is one of the up-and-coming directors to watch. The Orphanage was a masterpiece, and almost as powerful as Pan’s Labyrinth on a much smaller scale. And, the good news doesn’t stop there. Read on for more.
Del Toro is not ‘Afraid of the Dark’

Guillermo del Toro is easily my favorite (or tied for my favorite) modern director. He has a wicked eye for beauty and his story-telling is unparalleled. And now he’s doing a remake. Calm yourselves. I know, I know. Remakes are the devil, but this could be the first good remake since The Ring. Del Toro will not be directing, but he’ll be producing (along with Miramax – shudder). Comic book artist Troy Nixey will be directing, but you can rest assured del Toro will have a hand in the overall look of the film. Read on for why I’m so pumped.
Guillermo Del Toro Talks Hellboy III

Guillermo Del Toro is one of my favorite modern directors, along with Chan Wook Park, Kar Wai Wong and Neil Marshall. He’s currently busy working on “The Hobbit” and a second film to go in tandum with it. Del Toro, also, recently spoke about doing “Hellboy III”. Which would kick serious ass. I loved the first film and I’m looking forward to seeing the second.
Del Toro: The third one is the adult consequence of what he chose in the second movie. The third movie would deal with facing essentially your destiny, if such a thing exists, and making the ultimate decision. The saying goes, “As you turn 40, you turn into your father.” That’s not good for Hellboy! That’s not a good sign for Hellboy!
Sounds like a great idea to me. Watching Hellboy grow as the film evolve would be awesome. At least the films wouldn’t become stale and regurgitated retelling of the same story. Here’s hoping “The Hobbit” and it’s sister film are as amazing as Del Toro’s last few ventures.
