Denzel And Scott To Team Up For A Fifth Time?
Denzel Washington is in talks to star in Unstoppable, a new thriller from Tony Scott. They have teamed up four times already on Crimson Tide, Man on Fire, Deja Vu, and the upcoming The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3. Their movies have been full of win so far so I look forward to Unstoppable.
Trailer For The Taking Of Pelham 123 Remake
Tony Scott (True Romance, Top Gun) is directing the remake of the 1974 classic The Taking Of Pelham 123. With an all-star cast of Denzel Washington, John Travolta, John Turturro, and James Gandolfini, and a script written by Brian Helgeland this is one remake I am on board for (that’s a train pun). Gary Oldman to join ‘Book of Eli’
Gary Oldman will now join Denzel Washington in ‘Book of Eli’. The film will be directed by Allen and Albert Hughes(From Hell, Menace II Society, Dead Presidents), and will star Denzel Washington as Eli. This will be a post-apocalyptic western, where Eli holds the key to human survival. Read on for more.
Cronenberg Stalking ‘Matarese Circle’
OK. I know I posted something, somewhere about this upcoming film before, but I’m not going to wade through pages of articles to link it. The short of that article was, one of the best modern actors, Denzel Washington, is set to star in an upcoming thriller entitled ‘Matarese Circle’. The story sounds interesting, but was really Denzel hopping on board that peaked my interest. Well, cinemaphiles rejoice, we have another reason to get our butts in the chairs. David Cronenberg (Videodrome, The Fly, Eastern Promises) is in talks to direct the film, and if you don’t know who Cronenberg is…I don’t know how to help you. Read on for more info.
‘Inside Man’ at it Again
Remember a little film called ‘Inside Man’ starring Clive Owen and Denzel Washington? Well, Universal sure as hell does, and the $175 million it took in at the box office. Spike Lee’s film was a sleeper hit and an entertaining ride as the audience follows the two leads as one (Clive Owen) puts his plan into motion to pull off a robbery with more going on beneath the scenes than it seems, and the police negotiator (Denzel Washington) who wants nothing more than to end the standoff with the bank robbers in a peaceful fashion. Denzel Washington is probably one of the best modern actors available. Hell, I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again. The guy can do no wrong as his acting is impeccable, even if his choices in films isn’t always the best (Deja Vu, anyone?). Washington has 2 oscars under his belt, and the man’s won more awards than I can count. So, when he decides to get involved with a picture, I’m interested.
