Box-office Recap
Well kids. It looks like dropping a few words from the title and bringing back the original cast, is all it takes to rake in almost three-quarters of a hundred-million bucks. That’s right, ‘Fast and Furious’ took home the gold this weekend by a ridiculously large margin. Read on for more.

‘Twilight’ Sequel Already Greenlit
![]()
After stomping the competition Friday night (taking in over an estimated $35 million), the sequel to the romatic vampire flick ‘Twilight’ has been green lit as of this morning. Who woulda thunk it? Not only was it selling out midnight screenings around the country, but products featuring the ‘Twilight’ name and characters were selling like hotcakes well before the film came out. ‘Quantum’ Destroys Previous Bond Record

Looks like we can all breath easier knowing that the economy has not completely crippled Hollywood’s output of films (or, is that a bad thing?). ‘Quantum of Solace’ pulled in a ton of cash this weekend, easily taking the top spot and proving that even 22 films into a series Bond can still deliver. ‘Solace’ Owns Overseas

It’s been running rampant through the news the last week, but with ‘Quantum of Solace’ about to drop on Friday, it’s looking like the numbers could be bigger than expected for the 22nd James Bond flick. I, for one, am uber-excited as Casino Royale is one of my favorite Bond films, and Daniel Craig is an amazing actor. Read on for more details about the foreign markets and the expectation for the domestic release.
‘Pineapple Express’ already doing well

Looks like ‘Pineapple Express’ and ‘The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2′ both opened well on Wednesday. Pineapple made about $10 million and The Sisterhood traveled to about $5.5 million. Both films beat out the current leader ‘The Dark Knight’ which pulled in about $5 million. Looks like we’ll have a changing of the guards this weekend, even though I’d rather see Batman continue to dominate the box-office. Read on for some more numbers.
The Dark Knight Is Breaking Records

Based on some early numbers Deadline Hollywood reports that it looks like The Dark Knight passed Shrek 2 by racing to $400 million dollars in just 18 days after it’s initial release. As an obsessive fanboy I couldn’t be happier. That said. That evil, dark cloud over the film world still hovers, like a thief in the night ready to steal your firstborn and eat their liver in front of you. Damn you Titanic, you don’t deserve your spot, at all. Read on.
