Remake of “American Werewolf”

The latest in remake news is that John Landis’ 1981 film AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON has been acquired by Dimension Films. It was Bloody-Disgusting.com that broke the big scoop this weekend and now it’s being confirmed. Landis has also been attached as executive producer on the project and is likely to be a consultant too.
Bloody did have a Landis quote, he explains the project is in negotiations.
“Brad – Yes, Dimension is now in negotiation for the ‘An American Werewolf in London’ remake rights. Perhaps someone will make a brilliant movie out of it,”
Keeping Landis involved in the remake would calm my doubts some, but AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON still holds up good in my book. As always, only time will tell.

New Trailer For Carriers

The guys over at QuietEarth.us have come up with a trailer for the Spanish* post-apocalyptic thriller Carriers. Brothers Alex and David Pastor wrote and directed it back in 2007 but it has been shelved for some reason. The trailer looks excellent and I am a sucker for these types of movies so let’s hope it’s something other than quality that caused the delay. Read more for the trailer and synopsis.
Dunes Drops ‘Baby’
Platinum Dunes, who have managed to massacre several remakes already, have stated that they are not going to be doing the remake of Rosemary’s Baby. I can’t say I cared either way, but it’s good to know that they won’t be responsible for every crappy remake to come out. Read on folks.
