‘Thirst’ gets US release date

Yes. It is true. We’re getting Chan-Wook Park’s ‘Thirst’ here, in the States, in theaters. Praise to whomever saw fit to release a non-remake foreign film of this calliber (not that I’ve seen it, but come on, it’s CWP. He doesn’t disappoint – AND IT’S GOT VAMPIRES!). Read on for some details.
While the PR team behind the film was teasing a potential date, it was confirmed this afternoon that Thirst, Park Chan-wook’s vampire flick and a recent Cannes jury prize winner, will be released in the U.S. on July 31, the film’s North American distributor Focus Features said Wednesday. The screenings start in Los Angeles, San Francisco and New York and will gradually expand to include other states for a wider release.
