New Releases For 5/19

The new releases section this week is pretty stacked but I am most excited for Outlander. It has been described as Predator meets Beowulf. It stars Jesus as an alien who crash lands to Earth during the time of the Vikings while hunting another alien that destroyed his planet. How can you not want to see this?

Outlander (2008) Sci-fi/Action ‘R’- During the reign of the Vikings, Kainan, a man from a far-off world, crash lands on Earth, bringing with him an alien predator known as the Moorwen. Though both man and monster are seeking revenge for violence committed against them, Kainan leads the alliance to kill the Moorwen by fusing his advanced technology with the Viking’s Iron Age weaponry.

Valkyrie (2008) History/Thriller ‘PG-13′- Based on actual events, a plot to assassinate Hitler is unfurled during the height of WWII. 

My Bloody Valentine 3D (2009) Horror ‘R’ -  Tom returns to his hometown on the tenth anniversary of the Valentine’s night massacre that claimed the lives of 22 people. Instead of a homecoming, however, Tom finds himself suspected of committing the murders, and it seems like his old flame is the only one will believes he’s innocent

Fanboys (2008) Comedy ‘PG-13′ - “Star Wars” fans travel to Skywalker Ranch to steal an early copy of “Episode I: The Phantom Menace”.

Backwoods (2008) Horror ‘R’ - While camping in Jasper Park up North California, the couple Tom Alan Smithee and Gwen Marie Holden are attacked by a group of strangers; Tom is immediately killed and Gwen is abducted by the men to an underground facility to breed.

Man Hunt (1941) Drama/Thriller ‘PG’ - British hunter Thorndike vacationing in Bavaria has Hitler in his gunsight. He is captured, beaten, left for dead, and escapes back to London where he is hounded by German agents and aided by a prostitute.

The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance Centennial Collection (1962) Drama/Western ‘PG’ – A senator, who became famous for killing a notorious outlaw, returns for the funeral of an old friend and tells the truth about his deed.

Princess Resurrection – Collection 2 (2007) Anime - Hiro Hiyorimi is an orphan who goes to live with his sister Sawawa, the caretaker of a creepy old mansion. He ends up saving the life of the mansion’s resident, who turns out to be a princess of the monster kingdom — and his new master.

Sacred Flesh (2000) Nunsploitation ‘R’ - A number of people who have devoted their lives to God find themselves undone by desires of the flesh in this unusual erotic drama.

Skull & Bones (2007) Horror ‘R’ - A tale of homo-cidal mania. <— They said it, not me.

Wandering Ginza Butterfly 2: She-Cat Gambler (1972) Exploitation/Pinky ‘R’ - The Ginza Butterfly Nami (Meiko Kaji, returning to her role from the original) is back in a new story that finds her on the hunt for Hoshiden, the man who killed her gambler father when she was only a child.
