Matthew Reeves, director of Cloverfield, is set to begin shooting the remake of Let The Right One In in May. It will be re-titled Let Me In and is scheduled for a January 115th 2010 release.

I know most will be against this remake but I don’t have a problem with it what so ever. I like remakes. There have been many times where a remake has exposed me to a great movie I may not have seen otherwise. And at least, unlike [REC], we will get the original released over here before the remake.

Yes, what Mike’s saying is right. We might not get exposed to a lot of great foreign films without remakes, but I only see horrible things happening with this one. Certain things don’t translate well overseas and I don’t see the guy that made Cloverfield capturing the suspense and atmosphere that perforated the original.

Also, January 115th? Did we change the calendars? :P
