Christopher Smith Returns For Black Death

Christopher Smith (Creep, Severance) is returning to the directors chair for Black death, an apocalyptic movie in a medieval setting. Scripted by Dario Poloni (Wilderness) and with Sean Bean (LOTR trilogy, Outlaw) set to play the lead and Rupert Friend (Outlaw, The Last Legion) co-starring alongside him. Read on for the details.
Medieval England has fallen under the shadow of The Black Death. In this apocalyptic world, filled with fear and superstition, a young monk called Osmund is charged with leading a fearsome knight, Ulric (Sean Bean) and his group of mercenaries to a remote marsh. Their quest is to hunt down a necromancer - someone able to bring the dead back to life. Torn between his love of God and the love of a young woman, Osmund discovers the necromancer, a mysterious beauty called Langiva. After Langiva reveals her Satanic identity and offers Osmund his heart’s desire, the horror of his real journey begins….
I am a pretty big fan of everyone involved so far. They have all been a part of some very good projects. Smith really impressed me with Creep and Severance was pretty entertaining. Sean Bean is good in everything, even the crappy movies he is in. Dario Poloni wrote Wilderness which is as good as low budget survival horror gets and Rupert Friend has been good the few times I have seen him.
Smith will start this as soon as he is finished up Triangle, a story revolving around the passengers of a yachting trip in the Atlantic Ocean who, when struck by mysterious weather conditions, jump to another ship only to experience greater havoc on the open seas.
