‘Inland Saints’ gets Revamped

We all know that films change once a production company gets their hands on a script. Characters change and the story evolves (or, gets worse for most modern films), but this is such a massive change that I’m really not sure what to think. Read on for what should have been an intense crime-drama with a heavy romance subplot, but turned into something completely different.
Scribes Damian Shannon and Mark Swift have been tapped to do an overhaul on Paramount’s urban crime drama “Inland Saints,” which Joel Schumacher is attached to direct.
Project, formerly called ”Fix” and set up at the studio last year based on a pitch byKurt Sutter, had centered on the leader of a dangerous street gang who meets and falls in love with the daughter of the detective hired to bring down the gang.
Shannon and Swift are taking the project in a new direction. It is now described as an action horror pic set in a small-town desert wasteland gripped by drugs and gangs, with plot details still being hashed out.
Talk about a face lift. Well, more news as it comes, but it’ll be interesting what the guys who wrote the reboot of Friday the 13th can come up with.
