Will the Lizard appear in ‘Spiderman 4′?

With McGuire and Raimi sighned on for ‘Spiderman 4′(and five for that matter), the next step is knowing who the Villian will be. They have already used The Green Goblin, Dr. Octopus, Sandman, and Venom. I am sure the rumors will fly, as with this Lizard rumor. Dylan Baker plays Dr. Curt Conners, who ultimately becomes the Lizard. So, they have the actor in place, Dr. Conners already has screen time, seems like a no brainer right?

Sam Raimi, talking to MTV about his plans for “Spider-Man 4” (and a possible “Spider-Man 5”, which may be filmed directly after), says he isn’t sure whether Baker, who has played Dr Curt Connors in the last couple of “Spider-Man” movies, will transform into his comic-book alter-ego in this film.

“He’s a great actor, and I think one day The Lizard’s story will be told,” he teased, referring to Baker’s Curt Connors character. “I don’t know if it will be this one or not. I just don’t know. I’m definitely hoping to work with Dylan in the picture. I just don’t know who the villain is yet.”

Well, it doesn’t look like we will see The Lizard in ‘Spiderman 4′. Personally, I thought that having Sandman, Venom, and “The Return of the Green Goblin” all in one movie was too much. I am one of the biggest Spiderman nut hugger, but wasn’t too impressed with Spidey 3. The effects were excellent, but I think they should have given Venom his own movie. If you are gonna put two Spidey villains in a movie, use the minor ones…Mysterio, Rhino, Electro..etc. If you are going to use multiple villains, how about the Venom/Carnage story, or *gasp* The Sinister Six….Just some food for thought.
