Madness Rains on ‘Tropic Thunder’

Some of you may have heard of a little film called ‘Tropic Thunder’ that hit theaters on August 13, here the good ole’ US of A.  The film itself follows a group of actors, that are in a film that is so bad, that they’re tricked into going into a jungle to finish shooting it (to really scare them later on), but it turns out that they are dropped into the home of heroine producing gang and one of their own is captured.  It’s up to the actors to get through this ’scene-change’ and keep up the plot.  

Well, seeing all angles of a film is rare for a studio to do.  What the fans are also getting is a companion piece ‘documentary’ to go along with the smash-hit film.  Read on for more info.

“We wanted to do a fake documentary about the making of the movie within the movie which is called “Tropic Thunder” — not the actual movie “Tropic Thunder”. The fake documentary focuses on the real movie’s fake director, and what happens to the fake cast before they go into the real jungle. It’s pretty straightforward”, says Ben Stiller, one of the stars of the documentary and the director/star/producer and co-writer of “Tropic Thunder.”
