Now, a lot of people were not fans of Vin Diesel, or his films.  But, I loved ‘Pitch Black’ and even though “The Chronicles of Riddick’ was nothing new, it kept me entertained and I’m not ashamed to say that I’ve seen both more than a few times.  Yes, Vin Diesel often comes off as a one-note character, but isn’t that all that’s really needed for those films?  Hell, I’m totally going to check out Babylon A.D., because, even though it’ll probably suck in the story department, I’m sure visually it’ll feed my crack addiction of excitement.  What does all this have to do with the news?  Well, we may be seeing two more stories involving Vin Diesel’s Riddick soon.  Read on for some details.

MTV News published a short interview with Vin Diesel himself about his approaching Babylon A.D. flick and the possibilities of more Riddick-driven stories.  Here’s what he had to say:

 

MTV: What’s next for the character of Riddick? Will we see another film?

Diesel: David Twohy right now is writing the script. The only question is whether we take a page from the “Lord of the Rings” guys and try to shoot the two chapters at the same time. There are two more in mind. “The Chronicles of Riddick” was presented as a three-part trilogy that would answer “Pitch Black” in the same way that “Lord of the Rings” answered “The Hobbit.”

MTV: What will the setting of the next one be?

Diesel: Sooner or later we all end up in the Underverse. [In his Riddick voice] Sooner or later.

 

I am SO pumped.  More cheesy action on the way.  I’ll be there whenever these things drop.
