Trekkies unite, the new Star Trek teaser posters have been released!

The J.J. Abrams “reimagining” will star Shaun of the Dead’s Simon Pegg as Scotty (pictured top right), Pathfinder’s Karl Urban as McCoy (bottom left), Charlie Bartlett’s Anton Yelchin as Chekov (bottom right), and Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle’s John Cho as Sulu (top left).

Alongside of these new announcements, Star Trek also stars Zachary Quinto as Spock, Zoe Saldana as Uhura, Eric Bana as the villain, Nero and the perennial Vulcan himself, Leonard Nimoy as an older Spock.

I’ve never been a huge fan of Star Trek, but this cast (not to mention a J.J. Abrams directorial credit) is gonna put my ass in a seat on opening night. Its about time someone gave this story CPR and Abrams is just the guy to do it. This will be the eleventh installment of Star Trek films since 1979 and is tentatively titled Star Trek XI. As long as its not bogged down by CGI, this could be to Star Trek what Christopher Nolan was to Batman.
