Rumors have been circulating that Eddie Murphy is considering retirement. Well, let’s just squash those right now, because Dr. Doolittle himself came out and shot them down, while adding another interesting (good or bad depending) tidbit. It seems that he really wants to do another Beverly Hills Cop movie. Why does he want to do this film?

“Because the third ‘Beverly Hills Cop’ was horrible!” the once and future Detective Axel Foley laughed. “I didn’t want to leave it like that. The first two were cool and the third one was sh—y. [Let's] get the franchise fixed again, clean up this old mess and do a good movie.

That a boy Eddie. Now, I loved the first two films as a wee lad, but I don’t remember the third, at all. So, I’m guessing he was right and it sucked. I’m sure money has nothing to do with it (rolls eyes) but if he really is doing this because he felt the series should end right (and not because of the recent success of better series continuations : Rambo, Rocky) then all the more power to him. I mean, seriously, this guy hasn’t done a good film in forever. Here’s to hoping we get a solid Beverly Hills Cop film.
