Disney has released a featurette promoting WALL-E, the new computer animated movie produced by Pixar Animation Studios. The film details a lone, forgotten robot named WALL-E, who had been placed here with a million other robots to help clean up all the trash left by us humans. The effort failed and we all vacated, but WALL-E was left functioning all by himself. For 700 years he has dutifully cleaned up trash on Earth and over this course of time, he has evolved to the point of having feelings. WALL-E falls in love with a robot probe named Eve who was sent to Earth and the film shows the journey WALL-E makes in his effort to win over the heart of another robot.
Check out the new featurette, titled A Hero’s Journey, after the jump.
The film is directed by Andrew Stanton (Finding Nemo), so be prepared to have WALL-E engraved in your brain as no doubt this film will be as good, and as popular, as Nemo was…and you can be assured that the marketing on this robot will be massive. I am actually looking forward to this one on the technical aspect alone. This film uses no voices, just sounds that resemble voices, so the computer animation should be top-notch. Watching the trailer and the featurette seems to bolster that assumption.

Only thing is, I will have to save up so I can buy all the WALL-E related merchandise that will be demanded from me.

Can’t wait to use my daughter as an excuse to see this at the theater.
